3% Cover the Fee

The maximum donation amount is $1200. If you are donating the maximum, please DO NOT cover the 3% fee as it will note on the donation receipt that you donated more than the allowable amount. By donating you are confirming that you reside in Ontario and are NOT a corporation, business or a union.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While the donation isn’t tax deductible, through the Town of Whitby’s Contribution Rebate Program, eligible contributors will be paid back a portion of their donation after the campaign. Donations of $25 or less are not eligible which is why we’ve started the first donation amount at $26.   • Yes, you will receive an electronic donation receipt through email right after you donate. Your official donation receipt will be mailed to you after the campaign.

  • Yes. To ensure that those donating are residents of Ontario, to e-transfer funds please email akuahforcentreward@gmail.com with the subject E-transfer and your first and last name. In the email please include your full mailing address. This is to ensure we can mail you your donation receipt after the campaign. We will reply with confirmation and will send you the question and password to put into the e-transfer page in order to send the donation.

  • Donations of $25 or more must not be through cash, meaning the payment must be made through cheque, money order or another method that clearly shows where the money came from, such as an online payment.

    The maximum an individual can donate to a campaign is $1200 and an individual cannot donate more than $5000 to candidates running in the same municipality or school board.

  • Anyone who donates more than $100 will have their name and address recorded in the candidate’s financial statement. The financial statement is public.
